AZ StRUT is proud to announce that Avnet’s Community Grants Program has awarded us $10,000 for our Circular Economy Program this year.  

Avnet believes that “the idea of community goes far beyond the cities and neighborhoods where Avnet operates. Through Avnet Cares, our company’s philanthropic and volunteer program, our employees go beyond achieving business and financial goals. They make a positive impact around the world.” 

“Environment and STEM are two focus areas for Avnet Cares,” stated Katie Stringham, Global Engagement Manager, “AZ StRUT’s program not only impacts the environment by diverting electronic waste, their comprehensive STEM programs benefit youth across the Valley – we are proud to partner with this dynamic organization.” 

AZ StRUT will use this generous support to divert electronic waste from the landfill while providing responsible and convenient waste reuse and recycling services. Last year AZ StRUT collected and processed 532 tons of waste – more than 10 tons per week, on average.  

Avnet’s Community Grants Program is improving both Arizona’s environment and STEM education. We are very grateful for their support.  

The Alliant Credit Union Foundation recently approved a grant request for $4,000 to AZ StRUT to help bridge the digital divide. Their support will assist AZ StRUT in our partnership with Digital Connect.  “Digital Connect® is an initiative of Gila River Telecommunications, Inc. Their "goal is to bridge the digital divide in the Gila River Indian Community and Indigenous communities everywhere through digital skills trainings, support services, and learning resources that are easy to understand and readily accessible, and to develop future generations of Indigenous people as leaders in technology.” 

With Alliant Credit Union Foundation support, AZ StRUT will bring devices and training to more families who are strengthening their technology skills.
