BACK TO SCHOOL 

with
Clothing and Computers

AZ StRUT has been supporting the Back to School Clothing Drive event at GCU for many years. This year we had a Learning Experience table where hundreds of kids of all ages got to touch and put together donated computer hardware. We are grateful for the volunteers from Wells Fargo, Discover, and Bank of America who assisted us in staffing our table over the three-day event.

Meanwhile in a GCU classroom, Title I students attended our Techie Camp, disassembling and rebuilding a working desktop computer. All 102 students earned a free, refurbished laptop computer with a touch screen at the Techie Camp. In total our lead Techie Camp Coach, Thalya Nero, ran six Techie Camps over three days. 

Students were smiling from ear to ear and many exclaimed, "This is my computer to keep FOREVER?"

We look forward to the Back to School Clothing Drive every year because we know that students and families who need extra support are provided with school uniforms, back packs, shoes, socks and even one of a kind creations from Stiches of Love. 

Going back to school with new clothing and renewed technology builds confidence and excitement for academic success.
