We’re living in a pivotal time for digital inclusion action. More resources than ever are available now and will continue to be released to support digital inclusion work. AZ StRUT wants all Arizonans to have access to the technology that they need.

This year’s theme, “Stronger Together: Mobilizing Towards Sustainability,” highlights the power of collaboration in ensuring the longevity of the digital equity movement. By fostering a robust digital inclusion ecosystem that connects digital inclusion initiatives across our communities, we can sustain our movement towards long-term digital inclusion solutions.

Post on Facebook and/or Instagram and tag AZ StRUT between 10/7 and 10/11/24. 
Use hashtags: #DigitalEquityNOW and #DIW2024 

AZ StRUT staff will vote on winners and announce winners on Facebook and Instagram. Prizes may be awarded.

 Rural Tech Hubs: AZ StRUT Circular Economy 

Here's an update on our Arizona Department of Environmental Quality grant supported program. We were one of 12 grantees selected in Arizona spring 2024.

So far we have recruited ten local recycling champions in various communities like Nogales, Sells, and Bapchule. Our champions are helping to plan, promote, and implement recycling collections in their communities.

We engaged 57 learners in our hands-on Techie Camps in locations like the Nogales Boys and Girls Club, Gear Up, and Circles of Peace.  Each Techie Camp learner earned and took home a refurbished computer. 

The total weight of electronics collected from our rural recycling champions through 8/31/24 is 16,320 pounds. Our goal is to divert 25 tons (50,000 pounds) of electronics from landfills through collection events/services located in rural Arizona by the end of March 2025.

COX CHARITIES SUPPORTS AZ StRUT for three years in a row!
 

AZ StRUT is pleased to have been selected to receive a $7,500 donation from Cox Charities to support our Circular Economy program. This marks the 28th year that Cox employees, through Cox Charities, have raised funds to help the communities in which they live and work. Since 1996, Cox Arizona employees have raised over $10.5 million in grantsfor local Arizona nonprofits. This gift is part of $698,500 in statewide donations given to 125 local nonprofits this year, thanks to the generosity of 3,100 Cox employees in Arizona. The donation will help AZ StRUT provide responsible electronics recycling services to Arizona residents.
