There are many ways you can get involved and make a difference for our planet on Earth Day (and every day). Donating your used electronics to AZ StRUT is one way. Every week we are able to refurbish over 150 computers because of your donations! Those computers are distributed to schools, non-profits, and students who need them.
WHY REFURBISH COMPUTERS?
Have you ever wondered about the impact of refurbishing a computer? It's more significant than you might think! At AZ StRUT, we are proud to play a part in saving valuable
resources and reducing electronic waste by refurbishing computers. But what exactly do we save in this process?
When a computer is refurbished, we are conserving several key resources:
- Raw Materials: By refurbishing, we reduce the need for new raw materials such as metals and plastics, which are often extracted through
environmentally damaging mining processes.
- Energy: Manufacturing new computers requires significant energy, contributing to carbon emissions. Refurbishing uses much less energy, helping to lower our carbon footprint.
- Water: The production of electronics is water-intensive. Refurbishing minimizes water usage, aiding in the conservation of this vital resource.
Each refurbished computer is a step towards sustainability, offering a second life to technology and reducing the need for new production. This not only benefits the environment but also makes technology more accessible to schools and nonprofits. Last year AZ StRUT was able to distribute over 9,000 computer devices to those who need them most. We saved a lot of resources!
Please consider a financial donation so we can continue to save resources and support our community.
